Portrait Remi Cléro

One word reguarly comes back when fans, riders, owners, grooms, volunteers and partners talk about the Longines International Jumping of La Baule: “rendez-vous”.

This 2019 edition is dedicated to you, who come in growing numbers to be part of this world event, where free admittance is managed by a non profit organization.

Where do you come from? From 25 nations every year.

How many are you? 40 000 around the arena over the 4 days and 15 millions to follow the show on your screens.

What kind of words do you use to talk about the Longines International Jumping of La Baule? Happiness, pleasure, passion, dream, sport, refinement, elegance, atmosphere, emotion sharing, equestrian performance ».

Behind the scenes of this event, an international federation, the FEI; a national federation, the FFE; a city, La Baule; a region, the Loire region, a county, the Loire Atlantique: a unique grass arena, focal spot of the show, entirely renovated this year, thanks to the support of the City Hall of La Baule.

We are pleased to welcome the Secours Populaire Français who works to support the most needy.

Sport is at the heart of your interest:

Seven 5 star classes will count towards the Longines Ranking, where La Baule has, among all shows, the highest point coefficient for the world ranking of the riders.

The Longines FEI Jumping Nations CupTM of France, legendary team class of the CSIO 5*, and rescheduled this year on Friday 17th May, is modeled on the Olympic format. This class gives La Baule a unique position among the magnificent French 5 star shows.

The Derby of the Loire region, open to the rider/horse pairs who have the spunk and spine, will be held on Saturday 18th May.

The Longines Grand Prix of the City of la Baule, meeting point of the best international riders who will confront as individuals, will wrap up the show on Sunday 19th May as a climax.

After treading over the long beach of La Baule, the horses often give their best. We wish them good luck for this 2019 edition.

We wish to thank the riders of the CSIO 5* and CSI 1*, owners and grooms, our enthusiastic public, of course our faithful institutional and private partners, as well as the teams of permanent staff and volunteers who contribute to make your show a unique equestrian “rendez-vous”.
